Do you need a big diaper bag?

So, should you have a big diaper bag, and if so, what should go in it?

It may be better to think about two bags instead of one. Here is the line of thinking... have a little one will be fine for quick trips around the neighborhood, and a larger one for longer outings. With a larger bag you can hold an extra set of clothes and extra food, they both can have the baby basics: diapers, wipes, couple toys, etc. When just stepping out to visit some friends or a quick trip to the park, a smaller bag makes it easy to grab it and go.

If you choose to have a smaller bag, here is a quick list of items that you may consider the essential:

• diapers
• formula
• bottle
• wipes (in a plastic case for smaller amounts)
• food/snacks
• pacifier
• little toy
• childrens Motrin/ Tylenol
• anti-bacterial sanitizer
• zip-lock bag (for dirty diapers)
